Meissa Hampton is an awarded Actor, Writer, Filmmaker and Activist. She is an Artist in Residence at MIT in Cambridge, Mass with the Media Lab. Her films have screened in National and International Film Festivals including the Palm Springs International FF, Montreal International FF and the Big Apple Film Fest in New York. Her commercial and independent film performances have won ‘Best Actor’ awards from National and International festivals such as IndieFest, First Run and PictureStart Film Fests in NY and contributed to a ProMax World Gold Award for VH1s Lyrically Speaking. She is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild and New York Women in Film and Television. She has been an activist for gender equity in Media throughout her career and is the Founder of the Actors Alliance for Gender Equity in Media. In 2015 she authored the petition to SAG-AFTRA to promote gender equity in the industry and address sexual harassment and assault affecting performers. She has been interviewed by international publications and as a writer for the Guardian, her feature editorial helped move the dial on the #MeToo Movement. She is a founding member of The Indies Lab and the Urban Artists Collective in NYC. She founded and operates A Social Cure, Inc., a non-profit organization developing outreach programs for civic-minded media. She is Founder and Managing Director of One Pair of Shoes Pictures, a production company founded on visual media’s potential to affect positive social and cultural change. She lectures at conferences and Universities on Film and Women in Media. She is an awarded and published poet whose work has been celebrated by the American Academy of Poets. She completed her undergraduate film studies under a Ford scholarship and received a Tuch award for scholastic achievement. She studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory, then continued scene study, voice work and improv at top NYC studios including the Upright Citizens Brigade and HB studios. She continued her Film and Theatre studies at Harvard and MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has expanded from acting and writing to direct her first feature film A Social Cure, which investigates the HIV/AIDS epidemic and our path to a future free from HIV.
NICOLE MICHAELIS – Editor
Nicole Michaelis studied film at Yale University and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Since finishing her MFA, she has worked as a writing assistant to Michel Gondry, was head video producer for Nylon Magazine, and wrote and directed original content for independent clients through her production company. In addition, she has freelanced in post-production all over New York City (clients include Ogilvy, Y+R, Vice, and many more). She most recently served as lead editor and head of post production at MTV Scratch, where she edited content for clients as varied as Pepsi, the Malala Fund, and the Clinton Foundation. She most recently worked as an editor for the Clinton campaign.
DANIELLA FUENTES – Assistant Editor
Daniella is a Queens native who graduated magna cum laude from Hunter College’s film program. Since graduating, she has been a part of the post-production process on a variety of projects, including short and long form documentaries and narratives.
ROMAN CHIMIENTI – Sound Edit and Mix
Roman Chimienti is a Director and Sound Engineer based in New York City. His early experience as a Casting Director and Recording Engineer for TV and Radio advertising has allowed him to work with some of the most recognizable industry talent. Additionally, his extensive audio work has been featured in numerous festivals worldwide with film productions like “Happy Birthday To Me” (starring Whoopi Goldberg), “Spell” (featuring Jackie Tohn), “Gold Star” (featuring Robert Vaughn), “Last Supper” (starring Jim Parrack & Sam Hazeldine), “30 years Of Gargage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story” (featuring Adam F. Goldberg), the acclaimed documentary “Wrinkles The Clown” and the highly anticipated feature docudrama “Madonna & The Breakfast Club”. His directorial debut “Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street” won best documentary of 2019 in the GALECA: Dorian Awards and was labelled as “Entertaining, Informative and shockingly tender” by RogerEbert.com
FAUSTO BECATTI – Camera
Fausto is a director and photographer from Johannesburg, South Africa. He studied film at the University of Cape Town, and has gone on to direct commercials, content and documentaries for many illustrious brands such as Coca-cola, Hyundai, Nike, YouTube Go and Nando’s.
His photography has seen him build up a formidable portfolio of stills – exhibited and sold in galleries and showcased online.
Fausto is strongly devoted to diversity, he’s an advocate of & embodies individuals of all backgrounds and skin colours from both the mainstream and the under-represented, which casts a unique dynamic to his body of work.
His work has won awards at One Show, D&AD, Ciclope Africa & The Loeries Awards.
